RandomRSS is designed to help webmasters breathe new life into old content with syndication. By default WordPress provides different feeds for each category, tag, and comments, but only displays the 10 most recent items. This makes really simple syndication (RSS) great for automatically updating social media accounts and sites that feed off of you, but only works for new content.
RansomRSS applies the benefits of RSS syndication to all of your content by selecting 10 posts at random. It also allows you to filter the feed items by category, tag, or both. You can also choose between using the original publication dates and changing those dates to the current one. Random RSS is great for anyone looking to syndicate their content on niche sites for which only certain categories or tags are relevant. Search engines often consider content freshness as a ranking factor, so by changing your publication dates to today the syndicated content will likely be viewed as more current.
If your site does not get new content often this could be a great way to build your following on social media by blasting Twitter, Facebook, etc. with regular updates. Simply integrate your RandomRSS feed with a RSS posting service.
